Have you ever wondered what the secrets to success are when it comes to email marketing as a dietitian? Well, I want to welcome you to today's episode where I'm going to share the secrets to becoming an online dietitian and what it feels like in the experiences of becoming your own boss. And today I'm going to talk about one of the most powerful marketing tools available to dietitians and that's email marketing.
I was just on a coaching call today with one of our clients and our executive program. And she was saying that email marketing just isn't as fun for her. Is Instagram and she doesn't get that instant benefit from email marketing that she does from Instagram. And I think that's really relatable. And today's episode. I want to share why email marketing is so important and what that means.
Email marketing is an effective way to reach your target audience and to promote your services. And I want to share some tips that make email marketing successful. Firstly, email marketing is much more successful and it's the most effective form of online marketing compared to any other type. That means that email marketing, sending emails to your email list of people that have voluntarily subscribed to join your email service provider. When you engage in email marketing strategies, that's more effective than social media, SEO, blogs, any other type of online marketing.
So this is really important for you as an online dietitian, when you're looking. At becoming your own boss and impacting more people. So the first tip I want to share with you is to build your email list. You want to start by collecting email addresses from clients, colleagues, and anybody who might be interested in what you're selling, right? Whether that's consults.
Package or even an online program, maybe you've got an ebook or an online course. And you can use a signup form on a landing page. Or if you have a website, you can use our sh. Your social media channels, or you can even do traditional marketing, which means you're going to events and ed events, people are voluntarily giving you their email address, and then you're adding them to your email service provider. Right. So you've got an email list that you're building.
You also want to use a professional email marketing service. And there are many email marketing services available like MailChimp and there's constant contact. There are so many different options. There's convert kit. Which I used back when I started and these services offer templates and tools and they help you create professional looking emails, and they're optimized for mobile devices, which makes your marketing accessible to many different types of users around the world.
So email marketing and using these templates is easy. And I walk you through in our membership step by step. I've even created tools for you. I've written your emails and your sequences, and I've already created free guides that you can use to attract people to join your email list. If you learn on your own, you just want to set some time aside to get comfortable with using the technology. And to grow your business. You also want to create valuable content. So remember that people will only continue to read your emails if they find value in them. So once you've got that subscriber, who's voluntarily said, I'm going to join your email list. Then you want to send out regular emails. These can often be called newsletters.

And so the value that we share when we send emails, includes tips, tricks, what we're up to, how to grow your business, what it looks like to become your own boss. And so what's really helpful. As some of our clients will send recipes. They'll show sure stories from people, successful people in their community. They'll talk about struggles and hopes and dreams of their ideal client.
And any other valuable information that's related to nutrition and various health outcomes. And as a bonus, you want to monitor your results. So firstly, you want to just do it. You want to. I joined an email subscribers who want to sign up for that MailChimp constant contact or convert kit. And you're a MailChimp is free. So you do not have to pay at first, although, you know, you, you can, and that the fee is nominal, but the fee does increase as you grow more subscribers.
To your email list. So first you want to sign up with an email service provider. Then you want to send out regular emails to people who have voluntarily subscribed to your email list. You also want to create a free guide, which incentivizes people to voluntarily join your email list, and then you want to monitor your results. So you want to be paying attention to what's called open rates, click through rates and any other metrics so that you can see what's working and what isn't working.
And you want to use this information to improve your email marketing efforts. They're also called email campaigns. Which can help you better serve your audience. And so it's really important that you're monitoring the inputs in your business. And if this feels overwhelming, you're not alone. Learning digital marketing is like learning a new language.
